i felt both happy and sad at the same time.
sad because one of my favorite series had ended and happy because even though every cell in my brain was screaming "seriously???!?!" for the second part of the book towards the ending, fearing that it was going to turn into another "nineteen years later", the ending actually felt right in some way (though i'm not gonna lie, even though it's always best to create sequels and such to an already good-ending book/movie/tv series, i'm still open to Darren Shan actually go on with his original plan and continue the sagas till book 24...hey, i need some good reading, so sue me.)
call me a drama queen, but as i read those last pages, i had that slow-grin-creeping-onto-my-face and actually felt all glow-y with calm-fresh-early-morning-wind-in-your-face and shit as Darren did as ''dawn was approaching as i began to disperse into nothingness'' (and yes, i am gagging endlessly as i typed that last sentence.tapi merasa perlu jadi yaudah.ahaha)
and also, i had a bit of a chuckle i bet everyone who've read the book had when i re-read the title of the last book *grins*
so yeah, i really really really enjoyed the book :))
looking forward to read The Demonata series, The Saga of Larten Crepsley (not too interested yet actually, but will read someday), Koyasan, The Thin Executioner, and The City Trilogy next!
**check out the official website. it has book reviews complete with authors' full-length commentary on each book. and they have a complete international book covers gallery, where even the Indonesian version exist *nationalprideohyeah*!
edit: a couple of days later i thought differently: that the ending was crap and felt forced.and a waste of my time. but i'm still going to re-read it someday. maybe my opinion will change again for all i know *indecisive max*. ah well, it was good when it lasted so i'm ok with it~
