dammit.

red plaid flannel.

ahhh just the way i like it.
after what seemed like forever, we meet in the best way possible:

from tendy telling me "whatever you do, don't wear
any form of attributes in RED",
to me replying "too late",

and
'any form' turning into the exact same attribute in the form of red plaid flannel.
and
white in t-shirt, skirt, and pants. and if i didn't wear my sneakers, we'd all be wearing chuck's.
oh and tendy said that her cousin is also wearing red (but stripes), and that all our dad's were wearing white t-shirts.

cool thing is, in all the times we've known each other, we never wear the exact same theme (only so far as color similarity on different pieces of clothing). so despite embarrassingly looking like stupid teenage gang members, it.was.wicked.

so after my dad dropped me off, we went to tendy's aunt's apartment where we changed clothes, met Esteban, and got high on magic pop while waiting for her dad to take us to Shan-Tung(?) at Gajah Mada for one of the best kuo tie i've ever had.
then it was back to the apartment with our added kuo tie high, and bask in our heighten idiocy.

woke up, had indomie with egg, a little bit more of aink2 and esteban exposure, then me and lalat went home around 1pm.
and the trip home was the fastest trip either of us ever had in jakarta.

hope we'll always have that 'take up where we left off' feel when we meet after parting for even longer periods of time in the future :j

Topless dueling?
I know it’s a long text but it’s worth the read!
The most intriguing duel fought between women, and the sole one that featured exposed breasts, took place in August 1892 in Verduz, the capitol of Liechtenstein, between Princess Pauline Metternich and the Countess Kielmannsegg. It has gone down in history as the first “emancipated duel” because all parties involved, including the principals and their seconds were female… Before the proceedings began, the baroness pointed out that many insignificant injuries in duels often became septic due to strips of clothing being driven into the wound by the point of a sword. To counter this danger she prudently suggested that both parties should fight stripped of any garments above the waist. Certainly, Baroness Lubinska was ahead of her time, taking an even more radical take on the (at the time) widely dismissed theories of British surgeon Joseph Lister, who in 1870 revolutionized surgical procedures with the introduction of antiseptic.
With the precautions Baroness Lubinska recommended, the topless women duelists were less likely to suffer from an infection; indeed, it was a smart idea to fight semiclad. Given the practicality of the baroness’ suggestion and the “emancipated” nature of the duel, it was agreed that the women would disrobe—after all, there would be no men present to ogle them. For the women, the decision to unbutton the tops of their dresses was not sexual; it was simply a way of preventing a duel of first blood from becoming a duel to the death.
It is humorous that most recounts of this historic event fail to mention two important things: the winner of the duel (Princess Metternich) and the reason why the women came to arms in the first place—they disagreed over the floral arrangements for an upcoming musical exhibition.
^ best part of the entire article.
tumblino:
words fail me at describing how perfect everything about this post is.
This is what happens next time bitches try and mess with my floral arrangements.
I’m curious as to the selections of said floral arrangements…
This is the best thing I’ve ever read ever.

JA.KAR.TA.

i seriously forgot how to actually miss my beloved city and was actually on the verge of tears when my departure was nearly postponed yesterday.ahahahaha

2 weeks in my kosan room actually made me forget that there is such a thing as living in a house, i was actually taken aback with a feeling of "wait, i get to roam and laze about the whole house space freely??!!???" when i entered the house..

and i really really really missed my dogs and am certain that i'll miss them more like the whiny bratty big baby bitch i'm about to turn in to for a 'specific' amount of time.hahaha
especially that now they're well trained.
hear that?
ZEUS. WELL TRAINED.in TWO WEEKS.
and even NEW TRICKS!
it is now safe to open all gates without closing all entry points from the garage when we get home and park the car in the garage :D :D

you know, to refresh myself.

in her "defense": "well at least I didn't get the one with that guy in the middle for the cover".
uh-huh, like that helps.
FYI, this 'album' of theirs is as big as a a frickin LASER DISC.

i miss these articles of young kids moving more ass then we do

haven't seen articles like these in a while.
maybe they're just lost under all the over-exposure of the good life/consumptive lifestyle venues/celebrity gossip articles around these days.
or maybe i just haven't been exposed to the news lately.hahaha
nonetheless it's refreshing~

article link

yellow!

not a bad trip out.

Usually i plan if i want to grab a McD breakfast, or, if i don't, i usually uncharacteristically get up beyond early and find myself walking to McD.
Well today i make a split second decision to go there as a 'motivation' for me to get off my ass and work through my TA there (which i only touched 1-2 times since last week).
it was already 10.35ish so i hurried and packed my bag + quick shower (
had to.haven't showered in 2 days.), i even took a damn ojek because the taste of mcmuffin was already overpowering my tastebuds so.i.had.to.go.
When i got there they were already turning the signage for the breakfast menu but i saw some butter and maple on display and tried my luck
..

moi : mba minta mcmuffin 1~
mba : maaf mba udah habis (i
swear my HP clock showed i had at least 3 minutes left)
moi : what-NO! beneran ga ada sisa gitu?? um,ok kalo hotcakes..?
mba : bentar saya coba cek... *cek*... wah udah abis mba dua2nya..
moi : NOOOO _______________(insert various swear words.tapi pelan ko ngomongnya)!!!
moi : *shift off to side* yaudah deh mba, saya liat2 menu lain dulu ya...
5 minutes later
mba : mba, ini hotcakesnya masih ada satu mau ngga?
moi : (i swear i heard the heavens open) MAUUUU~

*
i seriously believed i unconsciously got out my pathetic 'anak-kecil-mau-permen' face and she pitied me and double-checked..bless her soul.ahahaha
you don't say.

Then it was off to fetch my library card at ITB's main library.
*someday i'll get pictures on the upgrade they did on the main floor (too many--no, LOADED with people, and i have no idea why).
First went to the american corner(?), then up to the 3rd floor that has
no ventilation.
How people usually survive for long hours i'll never know.

I was actually slightly hyperventilating at that point (never happens, but today was a very hot, very stuffy day), when suddenly 2 cute
birds swoop down into the library (frik banget) prompting me to look for a nearby ventilation and sure enough it was through the ceiling, and i breathed again. there must be a decent one somewhere. someday if i'm up to it i'll go search for it (highly doubt it tho. a pity, they have cool books).

(i brought 2 books home.and 2 more from SR's library. buat seorang diandra that's amazing.)

nerve 11

special.

it answers a lot, both negative and positively.

nerve 10

genuinely simply thinking and wanting to do the right thing being generalized into thinking and wanting to be a goody-two-shoes.

and then telling you you're naive for it.

and then preventing you from acting upon it because they think you don't know how the system works and that it's near impossible to penetrate it, so might as well just save your breath and chuck the idea altogether, also in a way inevitably giving you reason to doubt yourself and said cause.

and when you finally do have the solid reasons to back it up, they still don't support you because you cease in numbers, and they'd be embarrassed to be associated with a 'goody-two-shoes' like you because they're oh so bad-ass.
tsk tsk, bad for their image.

what's so wrong with wanting to want good for all?

why is it ok for the scheming, cunning, and manipulating to run their mouths all dramatically on 'positivity' and 'hope' in public, while the other half of their life consists of gaining personal profit,
sacrificing others chances of 'positivity' and 'hope' in life?
oh i'm sorry, it's ok because there's always a catch regarding the personal gains of all parties involved. always the selfishness.

and don't forget, you're not allowed to state opinions unless you've already acted/fought for it.
that you're supposed to just shut up if you haven''t 'proved' anything.
'all talk and no action' they say.
telling you that the statement above is just a feeble attempt to justify said action (of only opining),
or just for the heck of trying to 'prove' how smart and deep you are.

did it ever occur that maybe, just maybe people like us might only serve as catalysts for the whole 'big picture' by solely opining, for that's all we're good at at the moment, simply because of lack of knowledge to back up said cause and the need for others who qualify better in the knowledge department to help?

i mean, whatever happen to freedom of speech?
as long as you don't try to force your opinion on others i think that right still stands for everyone.

my friend Kara suddenly asked me to come to Pandya's house to help him make cakes and cupcakes and i unhesitatingly said 'yes' because i had 'nothing to do' (haha). met dion who i didn't know was in town. too bad he had to leave early.meh.
got invited for dinner (omg, paru keringnya (?) enak bgt!) and got to bring home some--no, loads of samples and leftovers of brownies, green tea brownies, apple crumble and red velvet.

mindless channel surfing at its best

the corgi stole my heart mid-channelsurf and i literally ran to my room to search for the vid, also gaining another type of surprise online (dammit, i sound like some teenager who saw her new crush's name in the chatting room and takes 2 hours just to say 'hi' while blushing madly).

anyway, music-wise, i've only heard their 'miami to ibiza' song my friend suggested to me, a loyal billboard top 40's fan who never fails to give me new song suggestions (with the same head-splitting generic music these days, i usually turn down 90% of her suggestions.hahaha), and surprisingly this one song is actually not bad.

listen to the 'miami to ibiza' link to get my point if you want.

nerve 9

people who just love to hear the sound of their own voice.
mostly on message boards, those 'lecturing i'm smarter then you i know shit' ones.

(when you're actually interested in other point of views that are delivered civilly and unoffensive ).

worse in real life.
if it's their opposite speakers turn and they "listen" to them, don't believe it for a second.
it's just for show.
they're just waiting for a 'cue' for them to cut in and go all "I KNOW/funny thing is the same thing happened
to me too!
______________(insert 10 versions of their related story, leaving no room for the other party to cut in for their turn. fascinating)"

*this from hogging all the Deathly Hallows part 2 message boards.
most of them are actually decent when presenting their personal opinions, but i just can't help getting pissed when those dipshits come on and ruin the whole civilized discussion for the rest of us.
